Francesco Ferlisi was born in Sicily in 1949. He received his artistic training in a number of different studios and was particularly influenced by Franco Dattilo, a RAI (Italian Public Broadcasting Network) scene designer. Although deeply interested in all forms of figurative arts, he ultimately chose oil painting as his preferred language of expression.

Throughout the years, he has been invited to participate in many prestigious competitions and presently enjoys recognition and success not only in his native country but also internationally where many of his works have found a home in countries such as Switzerland, Germany, England, Canada, South Africa, Sweden, the United States and others.

Mr. Ferlisi has his studio in Rome and lives with his wife Michela who is his personal muse bringing considerable light and colour to his palette.
